Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has expressed disappointment over the poor performance of Indian bowlers in the first IND vs SA Test.
Former Indian cricketer and pundit Sanjay Manjrekar has blamed the bowlers for India's defeat in the first IND vs SA Test on Thursday at Centurion.
Manjrekar said India's failure with the bat was understandable as most of the batsmen, except Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, had no experience of conditions in South Africa.
However, the former Indian cricketer admitted that India's poor performance with the ball was unexpected.
“We know that the Indian squad is not the strongest in terms of experience. So to some extent the failure is incomprehensible, what surprised me is that it failed in many ways. It was a bowling rout as the away team scored over 400 runs on a pitch which, moments later, was difficult for the Indian batsmen to defend. So, India's most experienced part of the game in 11, bowling, felt unexpected and disappointing.Manjrekar said on Star Sports.

“I'm at a loss for words. Lots of scoring opportunities, lack of discipline, high ball throwing average. This can make a difference at an extra level, about 0.2 meters, which can make a difference in where the ball hits the bat. However, it is essentially the line along which the ball is thrown.
