“They are excellent cricketers but few of them have ever played at international level so it is important to give them time to adapt. It’s about their roles being clear and everyone giving 100%, so I can’t ask for anything more.said KL during the post-match presentation.

The 31-year-old also praised officer Sanju Samson and said he was happy to see him performing well at this level.

“Sanju has been phenomenal in the IPL, unfortunately for various reasons he hasn’t had much of a chance to top the order, but it was good to see him perform well today.” added the Indian captain.

Thanks to Samson’s 108 runs and Tilak Varma’s half-century, India reached 296/8 in 50 overs. In response, South Africa, despite a good start, failed to cross the finish line and fell behind by 78 laps.

Samson was named player of the match for his victory and Arshdeep Singh was named player of the series for taking 10 wickets in 3 matches.

The Indian team will now travel to Centurion for the Boxing Day Test which begins on December 26.
