Mumbai Indians have been facing constant protests ever since they announced Hardik Pandya as the team’s captain for IPL 2024. MI fans erupted in anger when they removed five-time captain Rohit Sharma from the role of leader. Many cricketers extended their support to Rohit after MI’s surprising decision. Now, Yuzvendra Chahal has indirectly ‘named’ Rohit as his favorite captain.
Rohit got support from his MI teammates and the Indian team. MI batsman Suryakumar Yadav wrote about his grief and Jasprit Bumrah also supported him with a cryptic post on his social media profile.
Now, Indian bowler Yuzvendra Chahal has changed his DP ‘X’ (previously on Twitter) to a photo of him with Rohit. He now has Rohit’s profile picture and MS Dhoni’s cover picture, which could mean that Rohit and Dhoni are his two favorite captains.
MI are sure to face huge wrath for sacking Rohit as captain. Fans burned MI t-shirts and caps to show their support for Rohit.
However, Rohit has not made any statement regarding his dismissal.
