Mundra Port: Mundra Port celebrates its 25th anniversary | Business News from India

AHEMDABAD: Mundra harbor, the country’s largest commercial port and a flagship of the Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), completed its 25th anniversary on Saturday. Since the docking of its first ship, MT Alpha, on October 7, 1998, the port has contributed at least 2.25 billion rupees to the state and national exchequer, the company said in a statement on Sunday.
The port facilities include, among others, the largest coal, natural gas and car terminals. To commemorate the occasion, Gautam Adani, the Chairman of Adani Group said on a social media microblogging site on Sunday: “The strength of a nation’s logistics lies not only in its ships and its cargo, but also in its ability to link dreams and ambitions and to unite those who strive for theirs Use thing.” As Mundra Port turns 25We toast the countless souls who have made a crucial contribution to its success.”
Mundra is also the export-import gateway for container traffic. Karan Adani, CEO and Whole Time Director, said: “What was once barren is now India’s EXIM gateway and an exceptional global hub for trade and commerce. I would say with great confidence that we have succeeded in creating a strong catalyst for India’s growth – and I also believe that our journey has just begun. From a handful of tonnes in 1998, Mundra port now handles over 155 MMT, accounting for nearly 11% of India’s sea freight.
