Hence, Ronaldinho will set foot in Kolkata on October 16, just before Durga Puja, one of the biggest celebrations in India. He enthusiastically announced his visit on his Facebook page, revealing a busy schedule including charity activities, cultural visits and participation in Durga Puja celebrations.

The famous Brazilian player plans to visit his R10 football academy, where he will interact with the children at Merlin Rise. He will also explore various cultural aspects of the city by taking part in Durga Puja celebrations at several pandals, including at Shree Bhumi Sporting, Ahirtola Yuvak Brindo, Baruipur, Green Park and Rishra.

One of the most awaited moments of Ronaldinho’s visit was the inauguration of the Durga Puja pandal at the Sree Bhumi Sporting Club.
This pandal (a temporary structure usually used to worship gods and goddesses) will be one of its kind, as it will feature a 75-foot statue of Lionel Messi, in honor of his victory in Argentina’s last World Cup. year.

While in Kolkata, Ronaldinho also plans to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Apart from this, he will play a charity football match alongside former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly.

Satadru Dutta, the mastermind of the event

Sports promoter and business consultant Satadru Dutta, who has successfully brought football legends like Pele and Diego Maradona to Kolkata, is behind Ronaldinho’s visit to the city.

Dutta revealed Ronaldinho will spend two days in Kolkata, from October 16 to 17, before heading to Dhaka for the remainder of his trip.
