By beating Thailand, India moves into seventh place in the 2023 World Junior Championship play-offs.

Badminton News: Young Indian team managed to beat Thailand with a final score of 3-1 to finish in seventh place in the mixed team event at the World Junior Badminton Championships in Spokane, USA on Saturday (30/9.

Indian pair Samarveer/Radhika Sharma defeated Thailand’s Tanakorn Meechai/Fungfa Korpthamkit in a rubber match with a score of 11-21, 21-19, 21-18 in the mixed doubles sector to make a positive start.

However, in the second match of the men’s singles, Tushar Suveer lost to Nachakorn Pusri in straight games 19-21 and 11-21, allowing the Thai team to tie again at 1-1.

In the women’s singles sector, Tara Shah, who participated in the third match, defeated Thailand’s representative Tonrug Saeheng in a rubber match with a score of 21-15, 24-26, 21-12 to give the Indian team a 2-1. lead.

The pair Divyam Arora / Mayank Rana, who played the fourth match, then defeated the representatives of Thailand, the pair Songpon Sae Ma / Phurinath Saikamma in two consecutive matches with the score of 21-18 and 21-19 in the men’s doubles sector to ensure India’s victory over Thailand is 3-1.

The team event of the 2023 Junior World Championship is currently entering the final round where the strong Chinese team will face the Indonesian team on Sunday (1/10) in the fight for the 2023 Suhandinata Cup title.

After the team event, the best junior players from different countries will compete in the individual tournament which begins next week in Spokane, USA.
