Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer Marco Bezzecchi took victory from pole position at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida on September 23 to emerge victorious in the first Indian GP.
The Spaniard Jorge Martin came second and the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo crossed the finish line in third place. The winner’s trophy of the race was presented by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Representing the Mooney VR46 Racing Team, Bezzecchi completed the race in 36 minutes, 59 seconds and 15 microseconds. The gap between him and Martin – who represents Prime Pramac Racing – was 8.649 seconds. Quartararo’s lead – representing Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGp – was 8.855 seconds over Bezzecchi.
Fourth place went to South African Brad Binder, representing Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. The Spaniard Joan Mir from Spain took 5th place representing the Repsol Honda Team.
After the two warm-up exercises from 11:10 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. (IST), the final race began at 3:30 p.m. (IST). However, the distance of the main race of the Indian GP at BIC in Noida has been shortened from 34 to 21 laps to ease the burden on drivers and extend tire life.

This year, in addition to the MotoGP main race, Moto2 and Moto3 races will also take place on the IndianOil Grand Prix of India weekend. This brings the total number of teams that will be in action from Friday to Sunday to 41.
