The list shows a notable global trend, with several well-known companies now being led by CEOs of Indian descent. Among them are notable figures such as Alphabet’s Sundar Pichai, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, YouTube’s Neal Mohan and Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen leading the ranks of the tech giants.
The appointment of Ajay Banga as the 14th President of the World Bank Group adds to this growing list of accomplished CEOs of Indian origin.
The World of Statistics list also includes executives such as Laxman Narasimhan, Ravi Kumar S, and Sanjay Mehrotra, who run Starbucks, Cognizant, and Micron Technology, respectively.
Leena Nair, Global Chief Executive Officer of esteemed luxury fashion house Chanel, is another outstanding example of Indian heritage leadership in the global corporate landscape.
Elon Musk, known for his quick answers on the microblogging platform “X”, took note of this list and succinctly remarked: “Impressive.”

Meanwhile, Tesla, led by Elon Musk, plans to set up a manufacturing facility in India to produce an all-new car model priced at $24,000. Company officials will be working with Trade Minister Piyush Goyal this month to discuss the proposed deals. This new vehicle is expected to be 25% cheaper than Tesla’s current cheapest offering.
In June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Elon Musk in New York, where the businessman expressed his admiration for Modi’s commitment to India. Musk praised Modi’s genuine concern for the nation and his efforts to encourage significant Tesla investment in India.
