Jakarta Air this unhealthy Sunday morning, do you still want to exercise outside?

Air pollution in Jakarta continues to be a matter of concern. Air quality in Jakarta was recorded as unhealthy on Sunday morning.

The air quality index indicator for Jakarta this morning is red with the number 161. This means that the air in Jakarta is currently unhealthy.

Poor air quality parameter is PM2.5 or special case, are suspended particles as small as or equal to 2.5 micrometers. These particles can cause various respiratory tract disorders, such as upper respiratory tract infections (ARI), lung cancer, cardiovascular disease and premature death.

For Jakarta, the main pollutant mentioned by IQAir is PM 2.5 with a concentration of 74.6 micrograms per cubic meter.

“The PM 2.5 concentration in Jakarta is currently 14.9 times the annual WHO air quality guideline value,” IQAir said of the current air in Jakarta.

They also recommend how to protect yourself against air pollution Jakarta, namely wearing a mask outside, closing windows to avoid dirty outside air and turning on air filters.

Not only that, IQAir also recommends avoiding outdoor activities, such as cycling.

“Turn on the air filter and avoid any activity outside“, wrote IQAir.
