“With the inauguration of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) from New Dadri (in UP) to Sanand (near Ahmedabad in Gujarat), milk tanker transport has benefited significantly through increased speeds. Consequently, the transit time has been drastically reduced. “Ensuring efficient and reliable transportation of essential goods,” DFCCIL said in a press release.

“The transit time for Millennium trains (milk) for Banas Dairy from DFC station New Palanpur/Gujarat to Palwal in Haryana (over a distance of approximately 855 km) has been reduced from the previous 23.29 hours to 14. 49 hours shortened. ” says the press release.

This has resulted in a whopping 37.23% reduction in travel time in the month of July 2023. “Now the Milk trains start from New Palanpur (WDFC) and travel on WDFC to New Prithla in Haryana. A large part of the Delhi National Capital Region’s (NCR) milk needs are met by dairies in the state of Gujarat. 35 lakh liters of milk are delivered daily from the Banas & Mehsana dairy in the Palanpur area, among others. “Indian Railway undertakes the transportation of milk through the efficient use of rail milk tanks in a dedicated circuit between Palanpur’ Gujarat and the NCR area of ​​Delhi,” it said.
