Badminton India Seeking Foreign Coach for National Team Doubles Sector

Badminton News: The Badminton Association of India (BAI) on Saturday launched a call for applications for the recruitment of foreign coaches for the Indian doubles team to be based at the National Center of Excellence in Guwahati ahead of the Paris Olympics next year. “

“The Badminton Association of India is looking for a highly qualified and experienced Overseas Badminton Coach to train/assist/prepare the Indian Badminton team to achieve excellence in the Olympics and major tournaments/competitions international,” BAI said in a statement.

Coaches must be between 30 and 55 years old but the criteria can be relaxed in exceptional cases. The coach’s term will be two years “subject to an annual performance review”.

The foreign coach is expected to coach RCE-based junior doubles player Guwahati.

“We are trying to appoint a special coach for Guwahati, so he will be posted there and train the young players there. Senior players can also hire his services, if they want to come to Guwahati for training,” said Omar, BAI Joint Secretary. Rashid informed PTI.

“The National Center of Excellence will have 16 domains. It is a good facility and it will be inaugurated next month,” he added.

In the senior national team, Badminton India have recruited Denmark’s former world No. 1, Mathias Boe, to replace Indonesian coach, Flandy Limpele.

In the hands of Mathias Boe, Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty could become a force to be reckoned with with the latest win at the Indonesia Open World Tour Super 1000 tournament last month.
