This is a new cafe, bar and restaurant offering, which just opened on Saturday 1uh July, in Mourenx, in that mystical place in the town everyone calls Le Gaby. Sobana Kandasamy and her husband have decided to take over the establishment, which has been closed for months and keeps its name: “We just added 64 after O’Gaby to mark the change”, comments the young woman from the country, as does her husband, from Sri Lanka .
Already managers of an Indian restaurant in Lescar, Le Vejaa, they will offer all the colors and flavors of India that foodies will be happy to find on their plates. “My husband is in the kitchen, he has secret sauces that only he knows. We often think that Indian food is spicy, but that’s not true,” Sobana smiled.
“We offer a menu, lunch and dinner, for 13.90 euros as well as a menu where customers can also find traditional cuisine. If you want fries and a hamburger, that’s fine with us too”, explained the new manager.
With a large opening amplitude, they will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 07.00 to 21.30, on weekdays, and until 22.00 on weekends. Customers must appreciate it. Very quickly, they will organize a thematic night to liven up the place.
Elected by city hall
The mayor, Patrice Laurent and several of his deputies were present on this opening day. He said: “I went to test the Lescar restaurant with Samira Houry, advisor in charge of trade. we had a great time. We’ve had several offers to take over for Gaby, from the Kandasamy family who we think fit the bill the best. »
The opening strengthens the city’s catering offerings after BistroM reopened last month. The owner of the wall as well as housing, above the restaurant, town hall did some renovation and jewelery work to better accommodate the couple and their three children.
