Ginting’s effort to become the first Indonesian men’s singles to win the Indonesia Open since 2012 is expected to be difficult as Axelsen is not an easy opponent. However, Cimahi’s badminton player is fearless.
“Yes, it does not matter,” replied Ginting when asked by journalists about his meeting with Axelsen, Saturday 6/17/2023.

“It doesn’t matter, it means there is no thought there (it becomes a burden). It means this opportunity has reached the semi-finals, so I want to try to give the best of myself,” he added.
Axelsen is a mature opponent in all aspects, both physically and mentally. His achievement in winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 became the point of his awakening to become an undefeated athlete so far.
Sometimes Axelsen’s actions on the pitch are predictable from the start as he has a very high chance of winning every game he plays. In response to this, Ginting will prepare his physical stamina to be able to serve Axelsen.
“Personally, I’m trying to be more focused. From there recovery first continues to assess and prepare for tomorrow’s game. So let’s see how it looks tomorrow and ask for support, hopefully tomorrow we can play even better,” said Ginting, who is now ranked second in the world.
