Damaged roads only repaired with carpet, residents ask contractors to be responsible

Palembang – It’s just a ruse of the contractors and the government to deal with the damaged roads. Residents were already happy with the repaired road, it turned out that the road was only carpeted.

Fortunately, this did not happen in the southern part of Sumatra or in Indonesia. Reported by detikTravel, the fake asphalt is in India. Precisely in the village of Karjat-Hast Pokhari, Jalna district, Maharastra, India.

The local village community has been begging the government and people’s representatives for years to repair the damaged road. That’s when the road repair project began.

People happily wait and hope that the road repairs can be completed quickly, so that they can enjoy smoother asphalt roads. Moreover, it is said that the project was made using the latest German technology, the quality of which is beyond doubt.

Unfortunately, hope is still hope. The community discovered that the “asphalt” they saw at the road improvement project was not 100% asphalt. But carpet.

Yes, the damaged road was only covered with carpet before being covered with fine asphalt. In order to prove that it was indeed a carpet, the villagers tried to lift the new layer from the road. It was true, the road could be easily lifted up and out of the ground.

The villagers were furious. They addressed criticism in particular to the company working on the project. In the video that has gone viral in India, residents can be seen lifting asphalt mats while venting their frustration.

According to local residents, roads that are repaired only with carpet will definitely not last long, and will also break down quickly. For this reason, they demand that contractors, road engineers and related services be held accountable for this dupe of the public.

Hopefully the same thing doesn’t happen in Indonesia too.
