Adidas India, which is the official sponsor of the Indian cricket team, has introduced three new kits including the ODI, Test and T20 respectively. Revealing the jersey on their Instagram account, Adidas wrote: “Iconic moment. Iconic stadium. Introducing the new Team India jersey. In the shirt reveal video, the shorts can be seen coming out of Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai where India won the 2011 ODI World Cup.

India led by Rohit Sharma will wear an Adidas-designed jersey for the first time in the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC 2023) final against Australia in London. The matches will be played from June 7 to 11. The Indian team trained in new training kits which were also designed by the same sportswear brand.
Although the design is new, there is also something old in the new shirt. The three stars on the chest of cricketers are a symbol of the three ICC World Cups that India won in 1983, 2011 (ODI World Cup) and 2007 (T20 World Cup). The color of the limited edition jersey remains the iconic blue. The Indian team is also known as the Men in Blue, so it was important to keep the name. These elements were also present in previous Team India jerseys.
In the video, two shirts can be seen for limited matches but it is unclear which of them is for ODI and T20I. Not to mention that the same jersey will also be worn by the women’s cricket team.
Adidas joined as Team India kit sponsor last month. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah made the announcement via Twitter. While the Adidas-designed training kit has been adored by fans, comments instagram stating that the new kit received a mixed reaction from fans. One user wrote: “Am I the only one who doesn’t like this or wish it was better than this.” Another user wrote in the comments, “I was expecting more from Adidas but it’s ok, at least better than before.” Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians also posted their reaction, writing, “arey ekdum class” in the comments section.
