Support youth achievements, Jammu and Kashmir constructs 56 new stadiums

A district will have at least three sports in the three stadiums to be built, where competitions at the Union Territory level can also be held there.



Football, hockey and gymnastics stadiums will be built in Srinagar district. Cycling, Wushu and Kabaddi in Budgam, Badminton, Volleyball and Thang Ta in Ganderbal, Hockey, Football and Boxing in Bandipora.

The same goes for soft tennis, table tennis and hockey in Jammu district, volleyball, wrestling and boxing in Samba, football and rowing in Kathua.

Currently, the J&K administration has invited outstanding athletes who meet the requirements to be placed in the 56 sports stadiums as a coach or mentor for J&K youth and youth.

“First preference will be given to players who have represented India and are recognized by the Indian National Sports Federation (NSF) in their respective sports. Second preference will be given to those who have won medals at National Championships,” said an official.

While Medalists of Indian University Championships and players who have represented the state at NSF Recognized Senior National Championships or participated in Khelo India Games, will also receive an invitation to coach youngsters interested in the sport in their respective fields. . .
