CAG India expressed gratitude for BPK RI’s success in launching SAI20

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Exactly on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, Badan The Financial Auditor of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) has officially handed over SAI 20 to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India to oversee the ISC 20 in 2023 as Indonesia’s G20 Presidency transitions to India.

Representing the BPK, the secretary general, Bahtiar Arif, passed the baton the management of SAI20 Year 2023 at Deputy GAC India Parveen Mehta representing CAG India. As host of the G20 Presidency in 2023, India will discuss inclusive, equitable and sustainable growth; Life concept; digital public infrastructure; and technology-based development in areas spanning health, agriculture and education for trade.

CAG India expressed appreciation for the success BPK IR by launching the Supreme Audit Institutions 20 (SAI20) and organizing a series of SAI20 activities throughout 2022. This was conveyed by Deputy CAG India, Parveen Mehta during the SAI20 leadership transfer activity, which was held in a hybrid way (31/01).

CAG India proposes two priorities for SAI20, namely (i) blue economy and (ii) use of responsible artificial intelligence (AI). Both priority areas reflect high stakes and require real and rapid action through real collaboration.

To discuss and produce a consensus document in the form of an SAI20 Communique, CAG India is planning two meetings in 2023. Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) from 13-15 March 2023 in Guwahati, Assam and SAI20 Summit from 12-14 June 2023, in Goa, India.

“I am confident that Indonesia’s support for India’s GAC Chairmanship at the upcoming SAI20 Summit will help address challenges related to the marine and coastal environment and ensure that no one is left behind in society when it comes to digital transformation,” Mehta said.
