India Ahead, a private English news channel, ceased operations, leaving its staff in a state of insecurity.
Employees have claimed that their salaries have not been paid to them for several months.
All employees, including reporters and presenters, are now collecting their dues and are cracking down on the authorities.
Speaking to IANS, a top management official, who asked not to be named, said management is doing everything in its power to pay salaries to employees.
Ridhima Kedia, a journalist, tweeted: “We have had our backs for the company to the end, the least we would ask is honesty. The HR department also has no answer as far as salaries are concerned, and that is unfair! That’s just not acceptable.”
Shortly after this tweet, Bhupender Chaubey, former editor-in-chief of India Ahead, replied that the company’s owners are doing everything they can to help all employees.
Another former employee accused India Ahead management of not responding to her calls.
“It is true. I am a former employee and have not received almost two months salary. My emails to HR and the accounting team went unanswered,” Akanksha Verma tweeted.
