Company boss in India urinates on passenger on plane

PROHABA.CO, NEW DELHI – The former boss of banking giant Wells Fargo was arrested after urinating on another passenger inside Air India flightssaid a police spokesperson on Saturday (01/07/2023).

The man, named Shankar Mishra, is the former president of Wells Fargo, the “American company” for operations in India.

He fled authorities after an elderly woman reported him to airline management about the November 2022 incident.

Media quoted by AFP news agency said Mishra had turned off his mobile phone but was still in contact with friends via social media.

It also does credit card transactions in the tech city IndiaBangalore, which revealed its location.

Mishra was then brought to the capital New Delhiwhere police are investigating the allegations, according to the report.

A Delhi police spokesman confirmed Mishra’s arrest to AFP without giving further details.

Wells Fargo said Friday (01/06/2023) that Mishra was terminated after allegations of passenger urination came to light.

Mishra was reportedly drunk on the flight from New York to New Delhi on November 26, 2022.

He allegedly unzipped his pants and urinated on a 72-year-old woman who was seated in business class.

The airline said it failed to properly handle the incident and was reviewing its policy for serving alcoholic beverages on board.

“The water India recognizes that it can better address this issue, both in the air and on the ground and is committed to taking action,” chief executive Campbell Wilson said Saturday (01/07/2023).

The airline, which was recently bought by conglomerate Tata Group after decades under state control, has come under heavy criticism for its handling of the elderly woman’s complaints.

Aeronautical regulator India this week chastised its management for not reporting the incident right away.
