Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security, Mahfoud MDmet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (29/11) for the first time since the G20 summit in Bali.
During the meeting in New Delhi, Mahfud and Modi discussed cooperation between Indonesia and India in various fields.

The meeting took place in the middle of Mahfud’s series of visits to India. This is Modi’s first time meeting Mahfud after the series of G20 summits in Bali.
On this occasion, Modi expressed his admiration for the successful implementation of the G20 summit under the Indonesian presidency.
At the end of the summit, Indonesia ceded the presidency to India. The Modi-led nation will begin leading the G20 in 2023.
In particular, Modi was amazed by the mangrove forest reforestation program he visited during the G20 in Bali. He says the program inspired him to do something similar in India.
Besides Modi, Mahfud also met with representatives of Indonesian citizens in New Delhi, India. To Indonesian citizens, Mahfud reminded that one way to protect the nation’s good name is to take care of yourself.
He also explained the dynamics of democracy in Indonesia.
“Although it is not perfect, Indonesian democracy is going through a process towards better democracy,” Mahfud said.
“Here and there, there are certain situations in the political process that disappoint us. However, this disappointment should not cause us to leave Indonesia.”
Mahfud then said that loyalty to the state should be maintained and all Indonesian citizens should contribute positively to the development of Indonesia.
While in India, Mahfud also met with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. Mahfud was also a keynote speaker at an interfaith seminar in New Delhi.
