Sunday Ins wants to acquire an Indonesian general insurance company

Bisnis.comJAKARTA — PT Sunday Ins Indonesia (Sunday Ins), a company insurance technology (insurtech) an entire packet plans to acquire a general insurance company in Indonesia. The corporate action was completed to support the growth of Sunday Ins’ business in the future.

Sunday Ins Indonesia Marketing Manager Luvdhy Wahyu Sarwo Edy said the company plans to acquire general insurance in Indonesia. Must be complete insurtech.

“We believe that everyone has the right to be protected by insurance. To create a personalized product, the only way is to be complete insurtech like our business model in Thailand,” he said on Saturday (12/16/2022).

Through this business model, Sunday Indonesia believes it can make more personal and affordable products for all customers. Of course with the support of technology artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning qualified.

Luvdhy added that Sunday Ins had a vision to open access to insurance for all, the company launched this vision in Southeast Asia. Currently, This Sunday has operational areas in Thailand and Indonesia.

“As complete insurtechSunday Indonesia will replicate the strategy and best practices of what existed in Thailand to be applied in Indonesia taking into account the local economic landscape. In the future, Sunday Indonesia plans to acquire insurers in Indonesia,” he said.

In line with this plan, Sunday Ins is also pursuing a business growth rate of around 3 times next year thanks to sales business-to-business services (B2B) and collaborate with strategic partners, such as digital banks, fintech, ecommerceand others to offer microinsurance and retail products through Sunday Ins partners.

“Sunday Ins’ goal is to become the first digital native insurance company in ASEAN. After Indonesia, we will also aim to be able to enter the markets of Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines,” he said.

On the other hand, Sunday Ins secured US$45 million in Series B funding led by Tencent, as well as strong support from a number of new and existing investors, such as SCB 10X, Vertex Growth and Vertex. Southeast Asia and India Ventures, Quona Capital, Aflac Ventures, Z Venture Capital.
