Airtel Vice Chairman meets Yogi Adityanath to discuss company’s investment plans and Digital India mission

Bharti Enterprises (Airtel) Vice Chairman Rakesh Bharti Mittal met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday and discussed the implementation of the Digital India Mission, ways to improve communications facilities and Bharti Group’s investment proposals in the state. During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence in Lucknow, Adityanath reiterated his determination for an “easier life”, according to a statement, explaining that the government’s efforts are to ensure that every citizen in every village, town and village has access to education and Every city in the state should have health services.

Using Internet technology is the greatest help, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister’s Digital India Mission is an important cornerstone for a new Uttar Pradesh and a new India.

The Prime Minister described the 5G revolution that the country has undergone under the Prime Minister’s leadership as of great help in accelerating the construction of a new India and HIGHLY praised the efforts of Bharti Enterprises for the availability of quality communications facilities in India. He assured that the state government would support the company in any way it could in its efforts to improve Uttar Pradesh.

During the meeting, Mittal said that the group’s priority work is to enable high-level communications services in a state like Uttar Pradesh with a large area and a huge population.

The prime minister expressed his delight at the launch of the 5G network, saying it will ensure access to quality education, health and government services. This will prove very useful in bringing rural areas into the mainstream. This should increase employment opportunities.

The Vice Chairman of Bharti Enterprises praised the law and order in the state and the government’s investment-friendly policies, and also presented the Prime Minister with new proposals for investments in the state.

Mittal said Bharti Enterprises is keen to invest in data centers, digital banking and vocational training in UP and has prepared a full action plan.

The Prime Minister expressed his delight and assured him of all possible help from the government.

Mittal said Airtel’s 5G services partially launched in Uttar Pradesh. Very soon, all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh will be able to enjoy 5G high-speed internet service, he added.

Mittal said Bharti Group is working as planned to lay fiber optics to ensure better internet connectivity even in remote areas. The state government is expected to cooperate positively in this regard.

The Prime Minister said that any investment proposal from the group would be processed quickly and also invited the Bharti Group to attend the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit to be held on February 10-12, 2023.
