The network service, 5G to be launched next October, will be expanded to cover all of India in the next two years, India’s Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini announced on Sunday.
” Soon, 5G services will be launched and our goal is to reach almost all countries with 5G services within 2 years. Approximately $35 billion has been invested in 5G deployments“, added the Indian minister in a statement to the press.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 5G services in India at the India Mobile Congress Forum (IMC) on October 1, where major telecom companies including Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea will detail their 5G plans for the country.
The Indian government has promised to deploy 5G network for the benefit of its 1.35 billion population, whose speed will reach 10 times the speed of 4G.
To do this, India’s largest spectrum auction was held last August with bids exceeding $18 billion for a 20-year-old 5G license.
