TIMESINDONESIA, MALANG – Directors Arema FC announced that it is taking the option of disbanding the team due to conditions that are no longer conducive.
This decision was taken after the incident last Sunday (29/1/2023) at the headquarters of Arema FC. The masses acting on behalf of Arek Malang staged a protest but it ended in chaos which caused damage especially to the Arema store.

If you finally decide to disband the team, Arema FC will face several consequences
1. Fines of up to 5 billion
Arema FC could be fined up to 5 billion if it dissolves in the middle of the competition. This is as stated in article 7 of the competition regulations. It is stipulated in the rules, if a team withdraws in weeks 1 to 17 (first round), they will be subject to a fine of up to to 3 billion. During this time, if you withdraw from week 18 to 34 (second round), you will be fined up to 5 billion.
2. Disqualification from Ligue 1
If Arema FC decides to dissolve, according to the rules, the team nicknamed Singo Edan must suffer a disqualification from Liga 1. In fact, they must take a two-year vacuum if they dissolve while the competition is In progress. In addition, after the end of the sentence, they have to wait for the decision of the PSSI regarding the caste of the players, whether in Ligue 1, Ligue 2 or Ligue 3. The sentence can be increased if the PSSI Komdis increases the sentence for Arema FC.
3. Indemnification and Mandatory Return of Grants
Not only a fine of 5 billion, Arema FC is also required to compensate other commercial aspects if the team is disbanded in the middle of the competition. This is stated in article 7 point c of the competition rules. In this article, it is stated that the resigning club must pay compensation costs for losses incurred and suffered by other clubs, PSSI, LIB, sponsors, television and other related parties. The compensation value will be determined by PT LIB. Arema is also required to return the subsidy that was granted
4. Deduction of the other team’s points
The effect if Arema FC dissolves will not only be felt by Arema, but also by other teams. In article 7 point a, it is specified that a team having already competed with Arema FC, the points are considered invalid. Any points and goals obtained by this club or other clubs will not be taken into account when determining the final classification of the Ligue 1 competition.
However, these 4 things could not have happened if LIB, PSSI and the government had considered what was happening Arema FC is currently included in the Force Majeure category.
