The supply of imported buffalo meat is intended to meet needs during fasting and Eid this year. There is therefore a counterweight with the beef supply which will also be ensured by the public food company PT RNI.
“So it’s for the purposes of fasting and Eid. Because it’s just a counterbalance to the basic needs of the cows. And it’s also from BUMN RNI also gets a right of 100,000 tons for import beef from Brazil, so God willing, there will be no more problems for meat there,” said the one usually called Buwas.
For information, last year, Perum Bulog awarded a total of 100,000 tons of frozen buffalo meat to Bulog in 2022. The meat is imported from India.
Usually, frozen buffalo meat is sold to consumers at IDR 80,000 per kilogram (Kg). People who want to buy can get it from modern retailers such as Indomaret at Alfamart. Buwas said this while loading and unloading buffalo meat last year.
“If (imported) buffalo meat goes to consumers for Rp. 80,000/Kg, from Bulog it sells for Rp. 70,000/Kg, so there is a difference of Rp. retail in Indomaret,Alfamart. So please friends,if you come to check, don’t sell more than that.If you sell more than that,it means there is gap.We hope the needs people will be able to be satisfied. Because the beef is always missing,” Buwas said as quoted on Friday (4/15/2022).
