“It’s probably one of the largest mandirs in the world. It’s certainly the largest outside of India,” said religious scholar Yogi Trivedi. The stone is imported from seven different countries, explained Yogi Trivedi. “It’s transported by boat to India where it’s hand-carved and dry-assembled. It’s taken apart, coated, brought here and then assembled here like a giant puzzle.”
There are Italian marble statuettes, each of which is a masterpiece. There are 78 of them inside the temple. “You have to look at the sophistication of the marbles. It’s almost as if they come to life. Many of them stand with musical instruments or beautiful scientific texts.”
