Sukoharjonews.com – TVS Racing, the racing arm of TVS Motor Company, one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in India, has launched its latest electric motorcycle racing series. Known as the TVS Racing Electric One Make Championship (e-OMC), it marks India’s entry into the world of electric two-wheeler racing. Its debut is scheduled for September 29, 2023, as part of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC).
Reporting from Gizmochina, Tuesday (26/9/2023), in an effort to focus on the rider’s capabilities, the Apache RTE electric sports motorcycle for this championship was designed with the same specifications. This eliminates engine disparity, showcasing the skills of the eight drivers selected for the series.
What sets this motorcycle apart is its incredible power-to-weight ratio which, although kept secret, is considered the highest in its class.
Although these bikes are equipped with high-power cells and liquid-cooled electric motors, what is really interesting is the environmental aspect introduced in this championship. By introducing high-performance carbon fiber clad e-bikes, TVS Racing is not only innovating but also creating greener motorsport opportunities in India and beyond.
The series offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional motorcycle racing, without sacrificing the thrill and skill required by the sport.
Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director of TVS Motor Company, highlighted the company’s ‘track to road’ philosophy, which implies that technology developed for racing will eventually be applied to consumer vehicles. The series could lay the foundation for future electric vehicles in India, while increasing the popularity of electric vehicles and sustainable practices in motorsport. (nano)
