KONTAN.CO.ID – NEW YORK. Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk said, “Tesla will likely choose and determine the location of its new factory later this year.
To quote ReutersOn Wednesday (5/24), Musk said yes when asked by The Wall Street Journal’s Thorold Barker if India was an attractive location for Tesla’s new factory.
“Absolutely,” Musk said.
In an interview with Reuters last week, India’s deputy technology minister also said Tesla was serious about plans to establish a manufacturing base in India.

Tesla earlier this year announced that they would open giga-factory in Mexico, as the company prepares to expand its global production.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter and founder of several other companies, floated the idea of creating an educational institution that controls most of its voice on Tuesday, without providing details.
He said he had identified a successor to the board so that person could lead the company in the “worst-case scenario”.
“I said to the board, ‘Look, if anything happens to me unexpectedly, that’s my recommendation to take over,'” he said.
Tesla board director James Murdoch said in court last year that Musk had identified someone as a potential successor to lead Tesla at a time when investors were concerned about his interference with Twitter.
Musk recently announced a new CEO for Twitter and said he would focus more on Tesla.
