India Design 2013 Exhibit

Like I mentioned earlier, the final 3 days of Asian paints India Design were an exhibition held at NSIC grounds, New Delhi. The event focused on Home Decoration and Design and was open to trade, pre-registered guests and even visitors. On display during the ID exhibition were Interior Decoration brands, Trend Galleries, Installations etc. Well the exhibition display itself had a lot of styles, some were just too gaudy while some get to be picked as the Style Picks by StyleCity.Check out the Style Report for more on India Design.

Truly a spiritual manifestation shown through glass, in their most ambitious project Klove had created a 4mtr x 3mtr installation showing the aerial view of a temple, all of the different glass pieces also become pendant lights. Awestruck!

I loved the products! It was not the display as much as the products that attracted me. With Globe Chandeliers, Vintage clocks and candlestands, I definitely want to shop here next.

The Charcoal project is not for the weak-hearted or in this case safe players. It is about attitude and setting trends. In that sense the stall reflected the store’s personality completely.

An installation by Mozez Singh, which as opposed to the contemporary lifestyle of use and throwaway culture, is about finding beauty and meaning by repurposing everyday objects and products that have traversed its functional life-cycle.

Show Home by Furncraft De’Collage

Show Homes seem to be catching up with the Indian Decor fraternity, an example being one designed by Nitin Kohli of Furncraft De’Collage. I feel any person can get a better sense of the furniture in a comprehensive setting like that of a Show Home and they are also a great way for designer’s to showcase their style to customers. In this case Nitin Kohli experiments with various shapes, forms and surfaces to bring together a great amalgamation of International elegance and some fabulous 2013 Trends like Art Deco, Graphic Futurism and Retro Chic. We at Style City anyway love Trend spotting and designers who bring trends to us, so great job! Another thing that gets a thumbs up, showcasing works of other designers especially upcoming ones, in this case a lot of lights have been done by Klove and some of the art work by new comer Zehra Warsi. So here are the images, let me know what you think!

Style picks of the Week

The last 10 days happened to have been very emotionally draining. Work has been frustrating, the heat is rising and mostly I had my heartbroken by a friend. Someone I thought I could trust turned out well not so trust-worthy. So guess what I did the past few days, I spent them doing things I love the most. Those included meeting up with old friends, having a crazy girls night out, spending time with my 10 month old nephew (so theaurapatic), went for long walks along the beach, spent time in the garden.planned a holiday, read alot of Terry Pratchet, went to a Spa and ate tons of ice-cream. Guess what? it actually helped. I feel a lot better and even though I am still a bit hurt but I guess it’s all in the process called learning. So anyway here are my style picks of the week, hope you like them 🙂
