This collection takes us deep into the daydream home of an imaginary botanist, a fan of Comte de Buffon’s treatise on natural history. I for one am loving the tropical vibe, what about you??
In the heart of south beach, with sweeping views of the Miami Beach golf club, a modern 4,500 sq ft residence was designed by Light On White as a true reflection of its unique client and context.
Purchased from a developer as a concrete shell, the modern structure with generous volumes was particularly in need of warmth and a touch of originality to make it the client’s own. Featuring oversized glass sliding doors looking our onto the lush tropical vegetation, the design of the residence celebrates indoor-outdoor living and the sleek lines of the modern architecture.
Elegant, masculine neutrals are accented with pops of copper and bronze metallics. The understated palette is layered with rich and unexpected textures, combining open-grain wood against high-gloss lacquer, dyed shagreen against hand painted glass and embroidered linen against deliciously soft leather.
The use of the materials in their raw form celebrates their natural beauty, imperfections and all. The result is an immersive, sensory design with timeless

These come in various materials from stone to ceramic. You can get a metal jar or marble jar and place it on your console or side table for your chic update.

Hello People, I know I am not being as regular with the blog as I used to be, but I would blame it on the fact that while blogging takes time to think of and then pen down thoughts, it is so much easier to just put images of Facebook and Instagram. Both my pages are very much active http://www.facebook.com/stylecity and instagram-aparnakaistha.
However, I did go through and mark out a few stunning design elements from the past few design shows- namely from Dubai and Maison & Objet. Here is my pick of favourite lighting designs from the shows
1.Hugues Chevalier- Art Deco Style
2. Jeremy Cole- Ceramic sculpture
3. Hamilton Conte- again very Art Deco influence
4. Bellavista Collection- Combination of Moroccan & Indian Style
5. Stephanie Coutas for Baccarat- Just stunning detail

The client asked Oleg Klodt Architecture & Design to create a contemporary, stylish interior, where she could live comfortably with her family. The main issue was the restricted size of the apartment, in which she needed to arrange all the zones of strategic importance for her life.
The main approach the studio took in the design concept was a balance of contrasts. The palette of colours is based on a combination of black, grey, and light-grey tones, set off with focuses of brighter shades – yellow, turquoise (the chairs), and orange (the scatter cushions on the sofa). There are levelled concrete floors throughout the apartment, and there is almost no textile used in the decoration. Comfort and softness is instead provided for with soft carpets, which make a harmonious combination with the tactile surfaces.
The lounge is dominated by bright colours. The minimalist furniture recalls the swinging Sixties, and the decor creates a special atmosphere. There is a view to the kitchen from the lounge – the transparent chairs have bright-blue upholstery, while the dining-table is made from circular sections of plywood with a black top, with a textured metal apron.
The master bedroom is decorated with panels of distressed glass, which highlight the tall tailor-made headboard, and the wall decorations. The children’s bedroom was specially designed for a young girl who is in love with everything British. The design of the room is based on British motifs and laid out in thematic British colours. The area above her bed is laid out using individual lighting, which has inscriptions and designs from the London Underground network. The opposite wall is decorated with photo-wallpaper showing views of Westminster Abbey – which gives a new perspective to the room proportions, giving it a broader feel. To impose the British symbol, the door to the bedroom imitates the doors of London’s legendary double-decker buses.
Oleg Klodt Architecture & Design designed a project in which the different spaces in the apartment blend into each other, and so the overall feeling is one of holistic integrity. The overall result is a restrained and elegant interior, which combines the best of Belgian motifs with the style of a New York loft.
In the recent edition of Milano Design Week, SICIS presented its own unique vision of interior décor: contamination of styles and a balanced inspiration between classical and contemporary that offer ambiences of sophisticated comfort and elegance.
A large residence welcomed the guests: each of the ten rooms, built and furnished according to a specific mood had been tailored on the market’s demand of originality, quality and completeness. The house opened to visitors as a magical entry, reproducing designs of the famous eighteenth century Japanese painter, Ito Jakuchu. They had thus been able to show the versatility of the VETRITE, a new and innovative covering material, used for floors and walls, to clad an entire wardrobe or a wellness room but also for exclusive panels with artistic mosaic, or table tops and other furniture.
They had focused particular attention on the upholstered pieces, creating a series of proposals that best express the renewed textile collection TESSERE. Eclectic and harmonious, elegant and sophisticated is the style that the Company feels is its own and this year they have been able to share the same with visitors.
