Although he was knocked out after losing to Indonesia’s Anthony Ginting, Tze Yong’s encouraging performance saw him leapfrog three steps to No.1. 44 in the world.
“All I can promise is that I will fight hard in all my games at Birmingham. I am happy with my preparation and I feel I am ready,” added Tze Yong.
“My performance in Singapore gave me a lot of confidence. Of course, the competition will be quite tough in men’s singles, but I feel good physically and ready to give my all.”
Ng Tze Yong never played against Kean Yew and Lakshya but finished second in his last two meetings with Srikanth.
The Johorian admits he has to do something different if he wants to meet Srikanth again.
“I’ll discuss with my coach and maybe find a new strategy if I’m interested,” Tze Yong said.
