Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda is due to visit election-bound Himachal Pradesh today to consult with unity leaders on strategy for the upcoming general elections to be held later this year. According to the BJP, Nadda will speak at a public meeting in Paonta Sahib. He will also attend the events organized in the state as Himachal Pradesh also celebrates 75 years of its foundation.
The yatra to the Vaishno Devi shrine on the Trikuta hills in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir was temporarily suspended Friday night after heavy rains, officials said. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board chief executive officer Anshul Garg said the situation is under control and there have been no reports of casualties or damage.
