HELLOYOUTH – Malaysian men’s singles badminton player Lee Zii Jia says Indonesia weren’t very brave in the 2022 Thomas Cup.
Lee Zii Jia said that Indonesia’s key player Anthony Ginting has often lost in the previous 3 matches.
“I think the eight teams that qualify for the quarter-finals have the same chance in this tournament,” Lee Zii Jia said as quoted by Haloyouth.com from the Daily News page of May 12, 2022.

“If we pay attention, there are also many key players who lost like Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (Indonesia),” he said.
Another reason, Lee Zii Jia said that the absence of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon in the men’s doubles weakened Indonesia.
The reason is that in the game against South Korea in the closing match of the Group A stage, Indonesia encountered fierce resistance.

“Even though Indonesia became champions last year, this time they seem to be missing out due to the absence of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon (Indonesian doubles player). They also faced fierce resistance from Korea,” said Lee Zii Jia.
Therefore, Lee Zii Jia said that all teams have opportunities based on the player’s performance in the match.
