Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) returned to Indonesia after making a series of three-day visits to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Jokowi returned home with First Lady Iriana and a number of ministers, including Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir.
According to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat, the Garuda Indonesia (GIA-1) aircraft carrying Jokowi and the delegation took off via King Khalid International Airport, Friday, October 20, 2023, at approximately 1:55 p.m. local time (WS) or 6:00 p.m. WIB . .
Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al-Saud, Riyadh Mayor Prince Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf Al Muqrin, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Al- attended the departure of the president for Indonesia. Budaiwi, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi, the Ambassador of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Ahmad and his wife, and the Defense Attaché of the Embassy of Indonesia in Riyadh, TNI Brigadier General Putut Witjaksono Hadi and his wife.
Jokowi and his entourage are expected to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday morning, October 21, 2023.
Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, State Affairs Minister Erick Thohir and Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo also accompanied Jokowi on the flight to Indonesia.
During his stay in Saudi Arabia, one of the activities that President Jokowi participated in was the ASEAN-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Summit.
