According to a statement released by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, Bennett’s visit will coincide with the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Israel and India. “The purpose of the visit is to advance and strengthen the strategic alliance between the two countries, as well as expand bilateral relations,” he said. Bennett, via his personal Twitter account, also shared his happiness at being able to visit India. “I am delighted to pay my first official visit to India at the invitation of my friend (Indian) Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he wrote.
According to him, Israel and India have a fairly close relationship. “The relationship between our two unique cultures, Indian culture and Jewish culture, is deep, and both depend on deep appreciation and meaningful collaboration,” he said.
Bennett said his country can learn a lot from India. “This is what we are fighting for. Together, we will expand our cooperation to other areas, from innovation and technology, security and cyber, to agriculture and climate change,” he said. he declared.
Bennett and Modi first met on the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow last October. On this occasion, Modi invited Bennett to pay an official visit to India.
Since taking office in 2014, Modi has given a new dimension to India’s relationship with Israel. Before Bennett took office, Modi had a close relationship with former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Israel and India began establishing diplomatic relations in 1992. Since then, cooperation between the two countries has expanded. Israel is one of the main arms importers to India.
