Badminton News: The Indonesian youth team will play the quarter-finals of the Asian Junior Team Championships 2023 against the strong Indian team on Saturday (10/7).
The hosts themselves qualified for the quarter-finals after emerging as winners from Group A. This result was achieved after Alwi Farhan and his colleagues defeated strong teams from Vietnam and China.
Playing at Amongrogo Sports Hall, Yogyakarta on Sunday (9/7/2023) WIB morning, Merah Putih beat Future Players from Bamboo Curtain Country with a score of 4-1.
As Group A winners, Indonesia met Group B runners-up India, and the winner of this match is sure to win a medal.
If victorious, the young Indonesian team will face the winner between the strong teams of Malaysia and Thailand in the semi-finals on Saturday evening at GOR Among Rogo Yogyakarta.
On the other hand, China, who lost to Indonesia in the race for the title of group winner, had to face Japan at the top of Group C in the quarter-finals.
In the other half of the draw, the strong South Korean team will fight for a ticket to the semi-finals of the 2023 Asian Junior Team Championships against the strong Taiwanese team.
According to the schedule, the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Asian Junior Team Championships 2023 will take place on Monday (10/7). The quarter-final duels started at 09:00 WIB and the semi-finals took place in the afternoon at 16:00 WIB at Among Rogo Sports Hall in Yogyakarta.
In the last edition which took place in Suzhou, China in 2019, the Red and White team had to settle for a silver medal when they lost to the strong Thai team in the final.
