Google supports 20 startups by Indian female founders

Google on Monday announced the first class of 20 women-founded/co-founded startups, selected from nearly 400 applications, for the inaugural cohort of Google for Startups Accelerator-India Women Founders.

The tech giant places particular emphasis on access to networks, access to capital, hiring challenges, mentoring and many others that prove challenging for female founders for various social reasons and low representation.

In addition, the curriculum includes workshops and support around AI/ML, cloud, UX, Android, web, product strategy and growth, and access to a global community of female founders, the company said.

Some of the selected startups are Aspire for Her, Brown Living, CoLLearn Education, Commudle, Dubverse, Elda Health, Fitbots and more.

“This program is part of a larger effort by Google to increase women’s representation in diverse sectors of India’s digitally educated workforce – be it entrepreneurship, professionals looking to advance their skills, or young graduates looking for a head start in their careers,” said Google.
