“Absolutely,” Musk said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, when asked if India would be an attractive location for a new Tesla factory.

In a separate interview, India’s deputy technology minister also mentioned that Tesla was “serious” about its plan to establish a manufacturing base in India.

Earlier this year, Tesla announced it would open a gigafactory in Mexico as part of an effort by the electric car maker to push for the expansion of its global production.

In addition to Tesla’s new factory, Elon Musk floated the idea of ​​creating an educational institution that handles most of his voice, without providing details.

He said he had identified a successor to the board so that person could lead the company in the “worst-case scenario”.

James Murdoch, Tesla board director, said in court last year that Musk had identified someone as a potential successor to lead the electric car maker at a time when investors were worried about his interference with Twitter. Musk recently announced a new CEO for Twitter and said he would focus more on Tesla.
