Departing from India, a badminton coach from Indonesia officially offered to Thailand

The Badminton Association of Thailand (BAT) has officially courted Indonesian coach Agus Dwi Santoso after he decided to quit the Indian national team.

INDOSPORT.COM – The Badminton Association of Thailand (BAT) has officially courted Indonesian coach Agus Dwi Santoso after he decided to quit the Indian national team.

Besides Agus Dwi Santoso, BAT also brought in a coach from South Korea, Kim Ji Hyun, for the women’s singles sector. As well as a former player, Maneepong Jongjit, for the mixed doubles sector.

The recruitment of Agus Dwi Santoso and the two other well-known coaches was officially inaugurated by BAT President Khunying Pattama Leeswadtrakul on Friday (04/02/22).

β€œThe association believes that the presence of foreign coaches with experience in training world-class athletes, as well as Thai coaches who are former elite athletes, can make a positive contribution,” said Khunying Pattama.

In his statement, Khunying Pattama Leeswadtrakul hoped the three new BAT trainers could help the Thai mission prepare for short and long term goals.

The long-term goal is the Paris Olympics in 2024. While the short-term goals are the 2021 Sea Games, the 2022 Thomas-Uber Cup and the 2022 Asian Games.

“Currently, BAT is preparing to train Thai national team athletes in several tournaments such as the Sea Games and the 2022 Thomas-Uber Cup in May. And the Asian Games in September,” Khunying Pattama said.

“And an equally important goal is to get a historic medal at the Olympic Games in Paris, France, in July 2024,” he continued.
