Cult of the Lamb’s first test: the opinion was overwhelmingly positive! | Xbox one

Cult of the Lamb is out today and many of you are waiting for it. The Massive Monster game does seem to have all the ingredients to become a new indie nugget. With careful artistic direction, realization and original concept, it has been noticed and now is the time to be revealed to the players.

The testing embargo is now lifted and below is a summary of the international press reviews. The least we can say is that it seems all good!

The first test of the Cult of the Lamb

Everyeye.it – 9/10

The test was very positive and highlighted many points such as the “awesome and stimulating” gameplay, the management and roguelite aspects that work together perfectly. The visuals, soundtrack and sound environment are also recognized.

Devolver Digital’s lamb of blasphemy manages to blend different genres and inspirations, creating a unique cocktail that we’re sure will make a lot of people happy.

Gaming PC – 82/100

PC Gamers are also very enthusiastic about this game and quipped in particular by saying “This is Animal Crossing if Tom Nook wants power over money”. Testers point out that choices have a real impact on your adventures and that the level system is “frankly brilliant”.

Cult of the Lamb is clever, superbly crafted, and the plot is crisp and funny. The atmosphere is great, especially thanks to the graphic design that seduces you right away. By the way, turning all your followers into adorable creatures is a smart move. Intentionally or not, it makes brainwashing and dark morals fun rather than annoying.

Gamers – 5/5

Gamer’s tests were also very positive and just underlined that he wanted to have more post-credits content and be able to replay the final boss fight. In addition, he also mentions the selection mechanism, gameplay, and management part among the qualities of the game.

In the 15 hours I played, I found very little to complain about. The only things that come to mind are the inability to replay the final boss and the relative lack of post-match. When your only complaint is that you want more, there really isn’t much to fix. Some players may get frustrated with certain quests, but these are easy to complete with just a little effort and exploration, so any frustration is short-lived.

Digital Trends – 3.5/5

Digital Trends is a bit more contrasting in its critique and the roguelite and box hit aspects are especially chosen. Despite everything, the testers enjoyed the game and in particular described a rather amusing situation in their test:

For most of my play, I was the perfect leader. My flock of forest worshipers live in harmony, happily showing their devotion to the terrible god. Then came the shortage of wood. Within days, dissent began to creep into my ranks, as I couldn’t fix a broken bed. By the time I gather enough wood to fix the problem, I have to use it to build a prison. It turned out that the line between heaven and nightmares was very thin.

The game has been appreciated by most of the press and the first tests were generally very positive. If you like the management aspect, satirical humor, and stories where your choices have a real impact on the adventure, Cult of the Lamb should appeal to you.

Keep in mind that the game is available today on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC as well as on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
