Cognizant: Cognizant fires America’s President Gregory Hyttenrauch on conduct charges | Business news from India

BENGALURU: Cognizant has been terminated Gregory Hyttenrauch from his position as Senior Vice President and President of America effective immediately due to conduct inconsistent with company policy, the company said in a SEC Filing on Tuesday.
Surya Gummadi has been appointed interim leader of Cognizant Americas. Gummadi has been with Cognizant since 2000 and most recently served as SVP and Head of Cognizant’s Healthcare and Life Sciences business. He has worked on many of Cognizant’s strategic acquisitions, including the $2.7 billion acquisition of TriZetto and its commercial integration.
In his previous role at Cognizant, Hyttenrauch led Digital Systems & Technology Services, supporting clients with a broad portfolio of consulting, application, infrastructure and assurance skills.
In response to TOI’s email, a Cognizant spokesperson said, “The 8-K speaks for itself. It is not our policy to comment on the reasons for our leaders’ departures.”
He joined Cognizant in 2019 from Vodafone where he served as Director of Global Cloud and Security Services. He was President of the Americas and led Cognizant’s operations in the United States, Latin America and Canada. He was responsible for the region’s performance.
