BWF announces new schedule for two India International Challenge 2022 tournaments

Badminton News: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has announced the dates for the new badminton tournament India International Challenge 2022 which is expected to be held in Nagpur and Raipur later this year.

According to the new schedule released by the world badminton governing body on Friday, the India Maharashtra International Challenge 2022 will be held in Nagpur from September 13-18.

The world-class divisional sports complex at Mankapur will host a six-day international tournament in Nagpur. This will mark the start of the international tournament in Orange City.

After a day apart, Raipur will host the Indian Chhattisgarh International Challenge 2022 from September 20-25. Raipur’s Balbir Juneja indoor stadium will host the first international tournament in the capital of Chhattisgarh.

Badminton Association of India (BAI) Secretary General Sanjay Mishra will be in charge of organizing the Raipur tournament.

BWF has updated the dates of the Nagpur and Raipur events on its website

The BWF awarded two additional India International Challenge tournaments to India earlier this month. After receiving the request from the Badminton Association of India, the BWF said the new tournament would take place in September.

On Friday, BWF finally announced the exact date and also updated the new date on their website.

Apart from the two World Tour Super tournaments, India also hosted an Infosys Foundation International Challenge in Bengaluru and a Junior International Tournament in Pune.

The most popular cities in central India, Nagpur and Raipur, have already organized national level badminton tournaments.
