Badminton News: The young Indonesian team has successfully qualified for the semi-finals of the 2023 Asian Team Championships after defeating resistance India in the quarter-finals with a final score of 3-1.
In the first mixed doubles match, as usual, Felisha Alberta team captain Nathaniel Pasaribu who partnered with Adrian Pratama managed to do a good job taking the Red and White team to a lead of 1-0 after beating India’s representative, Samarveer/Radhika Sharma in two consecutive matches with a score of 21-16 and 21-15 in 34 minutes, in a match held at Among Sports Center Rogo Yogyakarta Monday (10/7) afternoon WIB.
Alwi Farhan who appeared in the second part managed to take the team to a 2-0 lead after beating Indian men’s singles, Ayush Shetty through a close battle which was quite exciting for 1 hour with a score of 18-21, 21-15 and 21-19.
However, India managed to reduce the score to 1-2 through their women’s singles, Rakshitha Sree Santhosh Ramraj through a tight rubber battle with the score 18-21, 21-10 and 21-23 in 1 hour and 9 minutes.
Meanwhile, in the fourth men’s doubles match, Muhammad Al Farizi / Nikolaus Joaquin managed to make the Indonesian team win over India with a final score of 3-1 by beating the pair Divyam Arora / Mayank Rana through a tight rubber game battle with the score of 21-10, 15-21 and 21-12 in 42 minutes.
With this victory, Alwi Farhan and his friends are certain to win medals in the team event and will face defending champions Thailand in the semi-finals.
