Beat Real Madrid, Barcelona become the most innovative team in the world

Barca have gotten rid of last year’s top order, Man City.

La Liga giants Barcelona have been named the most innovative team in the world.

The list was compiled by the Sports Innovation Lab, which considers revenue diversification, technological adaptability and organizational agility to build team businesses through innovative and digital approaches.

Main factor Blaugrana to win the prize is their closeness to the fans via Socios.com.

Besides, Barca also have social media in different languages, an eSports team, a data-driven amateur membership program and the Barca Innovation Hub.

The Catalans also beat last year’s leaders Manchester City who are now fourth.

Behind Barca are their classic Spanish rivals, Real Madrid. The list is also supplemented with European football teams like Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and AS Roma.

In the top 25 lists, there are only ten football teams, with various other sports clubs also filling the list.

Currently, the new Sport Innovation Lab takes into account the ten highest earning leagues in the world, namely the top five European football leagues, the four American sports leagues and the Indian Premier League.

In the near future, they will also expand the sports that will be included in the list, with Formula 1 being their short-term plan.
