JakBarNews.com – India’s Su-30MKI fighter jet will get additional super advanced technology after Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) reached an agreement with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).
As part of the “Make in India” initiative, the deal was signed under the MAKE-II of the Defense Acquisition Procedures 2020.
Projects in the Make-II category will involve prototypes of equipment, systems and platforms, as well as upgrades and their subsystems/subassemblies/assemblies/components.

However, no government funds were allocated for the development of prototypes.
The long-range dual-band IRST system will be deployed aboard the Indian Air Force (IAF) Su-30 MKI multirole fighter, according to a statement issued by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on April 26.
An infrared search and track system (IRST) is a method of detecting and tracking objects that emit infrared radiation such as jet planes and helicopters.

However, since the atmosphere weakens infrared to some extent and bad weather can also affect it, the range relative to radar is limited.
