JAKARTA- The Government of India offers a variety of scholarshipcourses and training programs for selected Indonesian students.

“Cooperation in education has enormous potential. The Government of India is offering various scholarships for international students – the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) General Scholarship Scheme,” said the Indian Ambassador in Indonesia, Manoj Kumar Bharti.

He said that the Indian government also offers study programs and technical training courses under India’s Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme.

“About 20 Indian students come to Indonesia every year to study Indonesian language, arts and culture, and science and technology through scholarships,” Bharti said.

According to him, many universities in the two countries have signed memorandums of understanding on various student and faculty exchange programs.

“If more students benefit from cooperation in the education sector with a diverse and multicultural community environment of the two countries, it will contribute to the development of the two countries,” he said.

The Government of India is offering 20 scholarships for Indonesian students to pursue higher education in Indian universities and colleges at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The scholarships are administered by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the General Scholarship Scheme (GSS).

Total scholarship The ICCR received by Indonesian citizens from 1994 to 2021 is 384. In the academic year 2021-2022, 41 ICCR scholarships were awarded, he said.
