An Indian is desperate to quit to spend time with his daughter, even though his position and salary are high.

NEW DELHI, KOMPAS.com – Ankit Joshi, a graduate of IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) in Kharagpur, recently revealed that he quit his high-paying job to spend time with his newborn daughter.

reported from NDTV, Joshi opened up about the strange decision in an interview. He said he started a new job just a few months ago as senior vice president.

But even before her daughter was born, she quit her high-paying job to spend all her time with her newborn baby.

“I know it’s a strange decision,” Joshi said, adding that people had warned him things were going to be tough going forward.

But his wife, Akanksha, supports his decision.

Joshi explains that his new job requires him to travel a lot to different cities, which he didn’t want to do after the birth of his daughter, Spiti.

“I wanted to rest a little more after the birth of Spiti. I knew that the company could not extend my leave. So I put my papers. I called it the promotion of fatherhood and I loved it that,” he said.

Additionally, Joshi revealed that since quitting his job, he has been devoting his time to taking care of Spiti.

“Life has revolved around him ever since. Whether it’s cradling him in my arms until he falls asleep or waking up at night to sing his lullaby, I cherish those moments,” said she declared.

Today, a month has passed since Spiti was born, after which Joshi’s wife was promoted to director of his organization even though she was on maternity leave.

“Seeing her excel in both her career and her motherhood has been so rewarding,” she said.

“The step I took was not easy, few men can do it. But I hope that in the years to come things will change because the life I have lived in the last months is more fulfilling than my frantic years,” he added.
