French-Indian brand RESCHA presents its new collection

Inspired by the classic men’s wardrobe in India.

Mixed race French mother and Indian father, Charlotte Chowdhury, founder of RESCHA, celebrates her mixed cultural heritage through her brand. Combining French and Indian knowledge, he evokes a universe in which roots intertwine to give birth to creations filled with poetry and subtlety. Her desire to represent this dual identity is reflected in her choice of colors, textures and cuts, combining a love of bright Indian colors with a fascination with structured French fashion lines. For Charlotte, growing up between two cultures shaped her aesthetic, and her experience at Central Saint Martins in London helped her define this hybrid identity. Today he presents the latest RESCHA collection.

By exploring the Indian men’s wardrobe, the new collection seeks to question the place men occupy in the public sphere and at the heart of the home. Sleek, the DEUX/DO is dressed in a palette of beige and sky blue. The collection includes silhouettes: suit trousers and shirts, as well as knitted sweaters that were typical of Indian men in the 1970s. To reflect this sometimes invasive place, RESCHA collaborated with photographer Bettina Pittaluga for a series of photos.

The creator explains having reproduced these scenes and these invasive postures “with women in the streets and houses of Paris and its environs”. Finally, knits remain an important element, as do conductive threads (or rescha) throughout the season. Apart from sweaters, they are also found in mini bras. The designer said that he wants to make this work, which has everything to become popular, a permanent element of the brand.

To celebrate the release of DEUX/DO, RESCHA is holding a pop-up in Paris from November 17th to 19th, find out more about the event Here. The collection will be released soon at the RESCHA shop.
