Uganda Airlines announced on October 3 the commencement of its India operations with the launch of its new direct service connecting Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Entebbe International Airport in Uganda.

Business operations in India will begin on October 7th. This flight operates three times a week between the two cities and offers a direct flight on the Airbus A330-800 neo aircraft.

Uganda Airlines said the service will offer a three-class configuration with Business (20 seats), Premium Economy (28 seats) and Economy (210 seats). This is the first time in more than 50 years that India and Uganda will be connected by a non-stop air service.

According to details, the direct connection service will take approximately five and a half hours in each direction, which would provide unmatched convenience to travelers traveling between the two points for business, pleasure or pleasure.

Commenting on the new development, Adedayo Olawuyi, Chief Commercial Officer, Uganda Airlines, said: “We are pleased to unveil this as the latest addition to our network, which confirms that Uganda Airlines is expanding travel options for our passengers. Apart from convenience, we also hope that the route will add new impetus to the existing business and trade relations between India and Uganda that go back more than a century.”

Indian Honorary Consul to Uganda – Madhusudan Agrawal expressed his happiness. He said: “Since 2017, I have been relentlessly pursuing the dream of a direct flight from Mumbai to Entebbe and believe that this will be the catalyst for increased trade, commerce and tourism between our two nations. “I am delighted to witness the realization of my vision .”

The first flight UR 430 from Uganda will take off from Entebbe on October 7th and the return flight UR 431 will take off from Mumbai on October 8th. The schedule has been designed to fit seamlessly into the existing network and meet the needs of those passengers who may wish to continue their journey beyond Uganda.

Bookings are available and conveniently processed through the Uganda Airlines app, which allows passengers to make reservations, pay for tickets, change itineraries and print boarding passes. The app is available on both Google Play and Apple iStore.
