Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: Harrison Ford in India.
In 1984, three years after the smash success of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Steven Spielberg, still supported by his friend George Lucas in production, launched a prequel entitled Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Harrison Ford once again dons the costume of the intrepid archaeologist and sets off in pursuit of a monstrous cult that has stolen a sacred gem endowed with extraordinary powers.
In line with its predecessor, this second installment brings together all the elements of good entertainment, with the added bonus of lots of twists and turns and lots of humor.
But if The Raiders of the Lost Ark accessible to everyone, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom turned out to be the first feature film to be rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America in the United States, due to its shocking scenes.
Among other things, we remember dinner at Pankot, where Indy and his little friends were served baboon brains, eye-filled soup and live snakes. A cult sequence, which has caught the attention of more than one movie buff!
At AlloCine, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom holds a solid average viewership rating of 4.2/5.
